The Königsleitn Theater & Holiday Village has an excellent new village landlady: Victoria Kuben. Born in the Waldviertel, she focuses on top regional products and offers a surprising new interpretation of classic inn cuisine. Where it says Litschau on the label, Litschau is also in it: carp from the castle fishery, game from the surrounding forests, rare potatoes and old grains such as einkorn and emmer form the basis of her dishes. "Extremely simple, good and surprising " - this is how Kuben describes her cooking style, which combines down-to-earthness with creative accents and brings Waldviertel cuisine to life in a new way. The young chef attaches great importance to dialog with her guests: she sees cooking as a conversation between ingredients, products and people. The menu includes seasonal delicacies such as pickled salmon trout with buckwheat chip, fennel and apple, poussin with pumpkin, romanesco and gnocchi, or vegetarian creations such as horseradish mousse with beetroot and walnuts. Victoria Kuben thus succeeds in interpreting the culinary tradition of the Waldviertel in a modern way and at the same time creating new taste experiences.

A (culinary) institution

The Königsleitn theater and vacation village, under the direction of Zeno Stanek, is known for its wide range of music, art and education - such as the Schrammel.Klang.Festival, the HIN & WEG theater festival and the numerous workshops. The "Dorfwirt" is the heart of the complex and has been attracting guests from near and far since 2022, shining in new splendor following its renovation. What's special about it: two stages are integrated into the restaurant, which can be booked and performed on. The interior is stylish and cleverly designed. The Zirbenstube and actors' room exude a living room atmosphere. In summer, the shady terrace with 80 seats invites you to linger and enjoy.
