Enjoyment and relaxation are usually inextricably linked. Karl Schweighofer and his team rely on this formula for success at the Waldviertler Stuben in Friedersbach. The inn was integrated into Austria's first lazy hotel in 2010. Sounds promising, and it is. In addition to home-style and regional cuisine, guests will find an oasis of well-being here in the Zwettl district near the Ottenstein reservoir. Host Karl Schweighofer focuses primarily on the original Waldviertel: poppy seeds, meat, fish and various vegetables all come from the far north of Lower Austria. The restaurant offers six differently designed dining rooms and upscale Waldviertel tableware.

Eat and relax

The Waldviertler Stuben have earned an excellent reputation thanks to their culinary excellence. In addition to a monthly changing "deluxe menu" with six courses, you will find tavern classics such as roast pork with Waldviertler dumplings and Schweighofer Pfandl on the menu. The golden-brown fried chicken also leaves an impression. The Waldviertel poppy seed noodles with roasted plums are of course also a culinary highlight. The best way to combine your culinary journey is with a cozy room in the adjoining Faulenzerhotel.
